2021
Dates: Jan – Mar 2021
Venue: Zoom, Hotel Stage & China Congregation Church Recital Theatre
The COVID-19 pandemic didn’t stop HKICF’s mission of making choral music equally accessible to all people. While the competition cum masterclass of HKICF2021 was cancelled due to the pandemic, we have successfully hosted a series of online(?) workshops for music teachers and conductors, where we a number of renowned local and international choral experts were invited to share their knowledge and insights.
Over 400 music teachers and conductors from both primary and secondary schools joined our various workshops. This year, we have brought new elements into HKICF as well. This is our first time hosting the “Dialogue with Music Teacher” session where we invited Mr Felix Shuen, Music Director of Diocesan Boys’ School, to come and share how he dealt with the everyday practical problems faced by music teachers and conductors. This also serves as a platform on which music educators can discuss and find solutions to the problems that they face.
