The 2019-2020 season, ‘Earth, Sea and Sky’, marks Elise Bradley’s thirteenth year as Artistic Director of the over 400-member Toronto Children’s Chorus. A passionate musician, award-winning conductor and educator, and internationally respected adjudicator and clinician, Ms. Bradley served for many years as the Head of Department, Music, at Westlake Girls’ High School in Auckland, New Zealand. She founded and conducted the school’s renowned treble choir, Key Cygnetures from 1991-2007, and directed the New Zealand Secondary Students’ Choir from 2001-2007, both of which won numerous national and international awards. She was also a soloist and member of New Zealand’s National Chamber Choir, Voices New Zealand. In May 2018, Ms. Bradley was named a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM), a Royal Honour awarded in recognition of her services to Music.

Since arriving in Toronto in 2007, Ms. Bradley has garnered praise for her artistry and for her deep commitment to children and the art of treble choral music. She has also led the Chamber Choir on nine international tours – Austria, the Czech Republic and Germany (2009), Brazil and Argentina (2011), Sweden (2012), South Africa (2013), Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland (2015), Boston and New York City (2016), Bahamas (2016), Spain, to perform at the World Symposium on Choral Music in Barcelona (2017), and New Zealand and Australia (2019) – and four provincial tours: Ontario (2012), Quebec and Ontario (2013), Nova Scotia (2014), and Newfoundland and Labrador (2018).

As Artistic Director, Elise Bradley has commissioned Canadian composers to write new works to be premiered by the Toronto Children’s Chorus and prepared the Chorale and Chamber Choirs to appear as guests of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Youth Orchestra, Tafelmusik, Opera Atelier, Bach Consort, Soundstreams, and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir. She also receives many invitations to work with choirs, adjudicate at festivals, and present at conferences around the world, including America Cantat 7 (Colombia), Choralfest (Australia), Dozan wa Awtar (Jordan), the inaugural National Children’s Choir (New Zealand), IFCM World Choral Expo (China), Kokopelli Choirs (Canada), Gondwana Voices (Australia), the 70th Music Festival of the Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Association (Hong Kong), the World Symposia on Choral Music (including Argentina, South Korea and Spain), Orientale Concentus (Singapore), and Crystal Children’s Choir (United States), etc.
